Karin Borovcová
(*1996)From Prague, Czech Republic
Currently based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands
Karin is an artist, designer and creative explorer.
Working across objects, bodies, spatial design, and research-driven projects. Her work is intimate, aiming to invite reflection and ask inner questions.
Her objects and spaces are activated by the body, creating a performative aspect in her work. She has a strong sense of storytelling, and is interested in emotions and connections between people. She believes design should make people both feel and think.
Karin approaches each project as an opportunity to experiment and learn new techniques. Whether initiating collaborations with other designers, investigating disciplines, or getting hands-on in production.
Having spent over five years traveling full-time and living with diverse communities in more than 20 countries in 4 continents. Karin’s work is informed by global perspectives and lived experience.
In parallel, Karin has developed a distinct practice as a tattoo artist, merging traditional handpoke techniques with modern machine tattooing. Her tattoos, like her designs, tell stories that reflect the client’s personal experiences.
